Borgo Marino Sud è uno dei quartieri più antichi della città di Pescara, ubicato sulla sponda sud del fiume e prospicente il lungo mare della città. Il quartiere, abitato da marinai come suggerisce il nome, rappresenta un punto fondamentale per la cultura e la storia della città di Pescara. Due edifici del quartiere verranno riqualificati energeticamente e sismicamente, ma anche per migliorarne l’accessibilità e la comunicazione tra gli alloggi. Ciascun edificio sarà dotato di due nuovi volumi, dalle forme semplici, che cercano di avere una proporzione adeguata con gli edifici e l'ambiente circostante. Questi nuovi contenitori ospiteranno scale, ascensori e luoghi di sosta: saranno rivestiti esternamente con lastre di alluminio riflettente che, al variare del riflesso della luce, ne cambia l’immagine durante il giorno, facendoli apparire diversi in ogni stagione, illuminando i cortili e i vicoli circostanti, come fari in mezzo al mare.
​Borgo Marino Sud is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city of Pescara, located on the south bank of the river and facing the seafront of the city. The district, historically inhabited by sailors, represents a fundamental point for the culture of the city of Pescara. Two buildings in the district will be energetically and seismically upgraded, and the accessibility and communication between the apartments will be improved. Each building will be equipped with two new volumes, with simple shapes which seek to have an adequate proportion with the buildings and the surrounding environment. These new units will house stairs, lifts and parking areas: they will be clad with reflective aluminum plates that will change their appearance during the day as the reflection of light changes, making them appear different in every season, illuminating the surrounding courtyards and alleys, like lighthouses in the middle of the sea.
